Two great recipes

tomato juice Two great recipesA fast article that has two recipes included in them both non related with tea recipes, but useful to all of us I think.

First is a natural cure for muscle or joint pain or any rheumatic pain. It also helps when you want to massage someone or just to relax your muscles after a long training or hard working day.
Ok, so this is simple to prepare. All you need is some yarrow and a bottle of olive oil.
First of all take only the flowers of yarrow off the plant. After that, find a bottle made out of light resistant glass and fill it with the yarrow flowers. After that pour the olive oil in it.
Let it ripen for 30 days in a dry dark place. After it had ripened, filter the resulted potion in to a light resistant bottle and also keep it in a dry place. Watch out for high temperature or for low ones. This is all, now the mixture is ready to use. It also helps the skin, so you can use it as an after bath gel and it also cures and helps scars recover.
I had an ugly cut in my right palm last year and I used this mixture for one month an it helped both my skin and my tendons, now I don’t have any problem with my hand and I haven’t done any other exercises than the ones made by myself.

Second recipe is a nice season recipe that includes tomatoes. Yes, you’ve guessed well, it is tomato juice. All you need is some fresh tomatoes. All you have to do is wash them and then cut them in half and put them into a blender. Add some salt and pepper, but not too much because it is not recommended for your health. After mixing them all together you obtain a juice that contains pulp and it is not so good for you, the tomato being an fruit that has high quantities of sugar in it that goes directly into your blood so it is a risk of diabetes. All you have to do is add some water in it. Lets say half water half tomato juice and then you have to mix them all together. This way you obtain a nice season natural juice.
Why is this better than eating tomatoes? Because the effects appear faster.
Tomato juice helps your joints recover faster and maintain a better health if you have rheumatic problems or joint problems. I truly recommend this if you had sports injuries or any kind of join injuries or if you are in recovery especially that this is onion season. Of course, there are lots of benefits from eating tomatoes or drinking tomato juice but those are the ones I want to focus now having in consideration the content of this article.

So if you have joint or muscles problems apply those two easy methods combined with cold showers in the morning and hot baths twice a week or after any kind of training and drinking a hot cup of linden tea before going to bed and I assure you that you will feel better.

Hot baths, cold showers

cold shower 300x261 Hot baths, cold showersThis is a great thing that has nothing to do with tea, but will also help you maintain a good health.

First of all I want to talk about the advantages of cold showers and hot baths.
I will begin with cold showers. Cold showers have a great healing effect on muscles and joints, but not only. When you take a cold shower you force your body and heart to pump more blood through your veins. When you take a cold shower your arteries will dilate and more blood will reach your muscles, bones, joints, tissue and organs.

Also the lactic acid in you muscles can give you a bad feeling, you will feel tired all the time and your legs will feel like they weight a ton. The first effect that you have after taking a cold shower, that appears in about 10-15 minutes afterwords is that you will feel your body temperature rising, this is due to a high blood pressure.

Also you must take into consideration not to do cold showers when you are cold, dizzy or you have any acute illnesses because this could only worsen your health.

How and when to take a cold shower?
The best moment of the day when to take a cold shower is in the morning right after you’ve woken up. You will start off with worm water and then slightly turn it into cold water in intervals of 2 minutes. When you reached the bottom line of the water temperature (that is when you can’t support the water if it was colder) maintain that temperature for 5-7 minutes.
After you finish your shower grab a nice dry towel and dry yourself very good before you but on some worm clothes.

Now lets talk about hot baths. Those kind of baths are recommended when you feel week, tired or when you feel you are getting a cold. This kind of treatment helps conserve and regenerate the natural resources of our body.
However there are some warnings about hot baths. For example the temperature of the water should not be above 41 degrees C, but this differs from person to person. Some people can support 39 degrees while other get dizzy because of the steam and the hot water.
Also it is not recommended to take hot baths if you have hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, cardiac ischemia, stroke, thrombosis or illnesses of this kind.

So how do we prepare and take a hot bath?
Very simple. The initial temperature of the water should be somewhere about 36-37 degrees and then after we get in the tub we constantly rise the temperature of the water, but not above 41 degrees.
The time spent in the water should be around 10-20 minutes, 20 being the maximum time allowed, so to say.
After you get out of the water you should avoid any contact with currents or cold air.
The moment of the day when it is most recommended to take a hot bath is in the evening before going to bed.

Green Tea (I)

green tea 300x225 Green Tea (I)There are many things to talk about when it comes to green tea. This comes as an introduction to this category of tea and you will find here useful information that come in handy to an ordinary tea drinker.

First of all, I want to tell you that there is a big variety of green tea.
The Chinese people used it since 4000 b.C. to cure a lot of things from depressions to muscle inflammation or recovery after hard effort. In modern times it has been proven that the green tea has miraculous benefits.

How does the green tea differs from all other kinds of tea?

Well, it is simple. After it was gathered, the green tea leaves are immediately dried so it has a lower percentage of theine that’s why it is less excitable than black tea. This process also preserves a lot of vitamins and antioxidants. Because of this, the green tea is full of vitamins A, B,  E or C and minerals as iron, potassium, phosphorus and calcium.

What are the primary effects of the green tea?

First of all it is a good treat for the signs of advancing through age. Green tea drinkers feel and look more younger. This is another reason that skin creams use extracts from green tea leaves. It has a diuretic and antioxidant effect so it is recommended to use green tea when you’re on diet or if you want to clean your organism from the toxins you’ve accumulated over time. It also decreases the risk of cavities and regulates digestion. One of the most wonderful effects of this kind of tea is that it gives you energy. So if you are willing to give up coffee but you didn’t find something to replace it with, try drinking green tea instead of coffee. You will feel more younger, you will think clearer, you won’t have digestive problems and definitely no cavities or yellow teeth. And above all you won’t have to limit yourself to consume only one or two cups a day, like you would do with coffee, you can drink all you want.

Modern research have shown that drinking green tea will reduce the risk of esophageal cancer with 60% and that the green tea actually inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Also it has been proven that green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

So if you want to have a healthier life, try including the green tea in your daily life or try replacing something bad like coffee or sodas with a worm or cold cup of green tea.
In the future I will be writing other things about this kind of tea, like how many kinds of green tea are there, ways of preparing it, how and when to drink it and some old recipes for cakes or foods that are made using green tea.

Linden Tree

linden tree2 300x229 Linden TreeLast article I wrote about the linden tea, know I wanna write down some interesting things about the tree that offers us the flowers for this great tea.

Those are things that I’ve read about and that I’ve tried myself.

What is interesting about the linden tree?

Well, to begin with, you can’t be thunderstruck if you hide underneath a linden tree during a storm. This is because a special magnetic field surrounds the tree, that differs from the magnetic field surrounding other kind of trees. When it starts to flourish it sends out a very delightful saint that is the same with linden honey. Also the shadow provided by this wonderful tree is said to be one of the best resting place during a hot day. Why is that? Because the shadow is soft and differs from other “kinds” of shadow because you won’t catch any cold while you’re resting underneath the tree.

It is said that the tree offers great inspiration while it starts flourishing. So, many artists seek inspiration in parks that contain lots of linden tree. A great example is Romania’s greatest poet, Mihai Eminescu, that has its own linden tree, the so called “Eminescu’s linden tree”. Also, parks from Romania are full of linden trees, so in the early June (sometimes with 6-7 days earlier if the weather is hot) in those parks you will find an incredible saint that will relax and delight you.

Another great thing that this tree offers us is the linden honey. It smells like the flowers of a linden tree and has a yellow color. It helps you in colds, throat irritations, inflammation of the nose or throat, stomach inflammations, laryngitis, bronchitis and tuberculosis. It also contains a lot of vitamins, especially B1, amino acids. It is also a good source of energy. This kind of honey starts to crystallize in 3 months after it was produced or at cold temperatures.
It is recommended that you keep it in glass recipients, in dark places without combining it in water. If you want to heat it up, try to do it using temperatures between 35-40*C.

Now comes a bonus part, another way to use linden flowers. You can also make baths using linden flowers and they have a very good effect especially if you suffer from insomnia or nervous problems, or maybe you’ve had a bad day and you want to relax before going to sleep. So linden flowers baths are recommended before going to sleep, because it will relax your entire system and you will fall asleep very fast.

You take 4-5 hands of linden flowers and put them along with 5 liters of water and leave them to ripen for 12 hours. After that filter the mixture and boil the remaining flowers with one liter of water for 10 minutes. Then filter the mixture again and add the resulted liquid along with the ripened liquid in a bath tube in hot water. Try relaxing for 20 minutes, but not more than 30 minutes because hot water and steam can affect your heart. When you’re finally out of the bath get inside your bed and enjoy a good night sleep.

Linden Tea

linden tree 300x225 Linden TeaThe linden tea is a wonderful and helpful tea. It is used in many countries against colds, headaches and to calm the nervous system. There are different linden trees but they don’t have many differences and the tea has the same properties.

How can you get your hands on linden flowers? Well, it is simple. You have to find a linden tree, or you can grow one in your own garden if you like and you just have to wait for the right time of the year when the tree starts to flourish. Then all you have to do is gather its flowers and leave them for about 3-4 days to dry off.

The linden tree starts to flourish in the first half of June starting with Tilia plathphyllos, that is the first linden tree that shows his flowers then after that in about 2 weeks comes the Tilia tomentosa and in the late July comes Tilia cordata.

What benefits do you get from drinking this kind of tea?

Well, to begin with, it helps your immune system and prevents you from getting colds. This drink is indicated when you are cold or when your throat hurts or if you have an irritation in your throat. In these cases it is indicated to drink a hot cup of linden tea sweetened with one or two teaspoons of honey.

A second benefit that you will get from drinking this tea is that it will calm down your nervous system. If you are really stressed or if you had a bad day, a cup of linden tea after work or before going to bed will help you relax and relief some of the stress that you’ve accumulated during the day.

Speaking of going to bed, because this tea helps your nervous system it also helps you to get a good night sleep. So, if you know you suffer from insomnia or you have problems resting well, a big hot cup of linden tea before going to bed every night for about one or two weeks, or even longer if you feel the need, will help you get a good night sleep. But, be careful, if you wish to drink tea before going to bet, try doing it without sweetening the tea with honey or, worst, try not to add sugar. Honey will give you energy and will stimulate your heart beat and rise your pulse so therefore you won’t have a good sleep. Sugar is worst because, not only that it will act exactly like the honey, but it also turns into fat very fast and can cause you diabetes.

How to prepare a nice cup of linden tea? Well, as I told you in the last post, there are many ways of preparing tea. I will present one of the easiest and most common ways. If you don’t have water from a spring or a fountain there is no big deal, you can use normal water. You put the water to boil on a small fire until bubbles the size of crab eyes start appearing. After that you stop the fire and add the linden tea. Now comes the big question, how much? Well there is no “how much”. Of course you can’t add to much or too little, it depends on what effect you want it to have. I suggest you add a small handful of flower at lets say 600-700 ml of water, then again I’m not an expert, but this is the regular way I do my tea when I want to drink a hot linden tea, like I’m doing right now. After that you cover the bowl or what ever is that thing you boiled the water into and leave it there for 3 minutes. Some say 5 to 10 minutes but then again it depends on how concentrated you want it to be. After 3 minutes, strain the tea and throw the remaining flowers away. You can add honey and you can drink it while it is hot or if you prefer let it cool and if it is a hot day drink it with some cold ice and some lime.

More to come on the linden tree, I will write some interesting things about it and the honey that is made from its flowers.

History of Tea

tea introduction 300x199 History of Tea“Moderation itself is the essence of tea.
Tea does not go along with excesses.” Lu Yu (The classic book of tea<cha>)

The tea is a great plant that is originally from Asia and in time it traveled the world around since the beginning of the XVI-th century. We must thank the eastern culture for this wonderful plant that has a lot of healing properties and for the fine art of drinking tea.

In time western cultures adopted the pleasure of drinking tea, cultures like British who have the 5 o’clock tea, but the real art of drinking tea remains in the Eastern countries where tea has its real value.

This plant is well appreciated for its healing properties like recovery after effort, spirit revival and it helps maintain a positive thinking and a permanent will as well as a better eyesight.

The Japanese transformed the making and the drinking of tea into a real art that is called The tea ceremony or Cha-no-yu. It is a complex ritual that starts before the guests even arrives, with the preparation and the cleaning of the room where the ceremony will take place. Everything has to be well cleaned and in perfect arrangement as well as the making of the revigorating drink. The movements of the ceremony master must be smooth.

There is no universal recipe but most think that the making of tea is a real art. Some experts think that the best recipe of tea can be found in the 11 chino-vietnamese words: “NhAt thuy, nhi tra,tam boi,tU binh, ngU quAn anh” that mean choose the water, then the tea, after the cups and the kettle and last but not least choose your mates or comrades. As the masters in tea making teach us, it is important which kind of water we are using. The water from a mountain spring is the best water for making tea, then follows the river water after which comes the water from a fountain and last and the worst water that can be used for tea is the normal water.

The water also should be boiled correctly. Some say that you have to chose a special kind of fuel for the fire and it is said that the best one is the wood coal. Also the water shouldn’t be boiled too much because it will lose its oxigen.

There is a great variety of tea. China (check Wholesale Chinese Tea) is renowned for having two special tea plants, one is “Vu Di Son Tra” (the tea plant that grows on the well known mountain of Vu Di) or the “Tram ma tra” (the tea leaves from the stomach of a decapitated horse).

Taking in consideration the degree of oxidation there are 4 tips of tea: green tea, white tee, black tea and oolong. There is no such thing as the best tea, every tea has its benefits and it depends in what way or for what you use it. This is what we will take into consideration in the future as well as ways for preparing tea, how to use it and when to use it. We will also show information about traditional medicine and ways to cure different problems or ways to improve your health and diet.

So as you can see the tea should be an important part of our daily life. You can drink tea instead of coffee because it is healthier or you can cure different diseases instead of taking bad medicine that can worsen your health or destroy your immune system.
